What is the difference between automatic weighing instruments and non-automatic weighing instruments?

The difference between the two is that the general non-automatic weighing apparatus (NAWI) requires operator intervention during the weighing process, such as depositing or removing the load from the load receptor to perform measurements and results.

However, it is not always easy to determine which requirements an instrument satisfies from the above brief definition. In these cases, the following definitions of Non-Automatic Weighing Instrument (NAWI) or Automatic Weighing Instrument (AWI) apply when interpreting the problem, as defined in the EU Directive 90/384/EEEC and the Measuring Instruments Directive 2004/22/EC (or as recommended in relation to OIML).

In the case of any operator intervention, the instrument for continuous weighing cycles has always been considered AWI. If the instrument requires the intervention of the operator, it is considered that the weighing results of the NAWI need to be determined or verified only in the case of the operator.

The operator that determines the weighing result includes any result affected by intelligent action, such as stabilizing or adjusting the weight of the weighed product when the decision is directed.

Verifying weighing results means accepting observations and displaying each weighing result. When the weighing process allows the operator to take actions that affect the weighing result, the weighing result is unacceptable.
